justpea-chy asked: Hey, I obviously don't know you but you're pretty much the perfect person to talk to. The buy I've been seeing has an interview for the defense forces on friday and I don't want him to go. I'm so happy for him because he's excited so I feel really selfish that I don't want him to be accepted. It's ruined everything because he applied for an electrical trade within the army and the training is in victoria and I live in QLD :( Does it change everything?
Ahh the training! That was the worst time ever! It’s literally 3 months of getting to talk to them once a week for 15 minutes if you’re lucky :\ I’ve always been so supportive of him even though he wanted to quit so much in the training! He’s been based and everything but still wants to quit, but unfortunately can’t now :( plus his march out was the best thing in my life, I loved it so much and getting to see him after 3 months was awesome! don’t stress too much, half of the people that go in quit during training because it’s horrible, and even if he doesn’t it’s only 3 months and then he’ll be based somewhere, if you’re lucky it’ll be queensland! Once they’re at base it’s a lot easier and it’s a bit easier to come see them!
I’ve never actually know it to be any other way, we met just before he left so we’ve always been long distance! But this was actually his second time trying to get in the army, the first time he was 18 and dating this girl who didn’t want him to go so he didn’t and he regretted it so much! So let him do it, you don’t want to be that girl, but just be supportive! It is great, and worth it still being with him although it is hard, but you’ve just gotta make the effort!
